Professional Disclaimer

The basis on which the firm receives enquiries, and what is and is not created when you contact us.

Contacting the firm is not instructing it

Sending a message through this website, by email or by telephone does not create an advocate–client relationship. That relationship arises only when Samaanta Law Firm has confirmed in writing that it has accepted instructions, after the necessary conflict checks and on agreed terms of engagement.

Confidentiality before engagement

Please do not send confidential or privileged material through the consultation request form or by unencrypted email before an engagement is confirmed. Information sent before an advocate–client relationship exists may not attract privilege, and the firm may already be acting for another party in the same matter. Once we have confirmed we can act, we will tell you how to send documents securely.

Conflict checks

Every enquiry is checked against the firm’s existing and former matters before instructions are accepted. If a conflict exists we will tell you that we cannot act, without disclosing why. That is a professional obligation, not evasion.

No solicitation

The rules of the Bar Council of India prohibit advocates from soliciting work or advertising. Nothing on this website, including the consultation request form, is an advertisement, solicitation, invitation or inducement. Any information you obtain here is at your own volition. See the full disclaimer.

Response times

Consultation requests are acknowledged within one working day. Where a matter is urgent — an arrest, an interim order, an expiring limitation period — telephone the office rather than relying on email. We cannot accept responsibility for a deadline missed because an email was not read in time.

Fees

Fees are agreed in writing before work on a stage begins, and no work is billed that has not been authorised. Indian professional rules do not permit an advocate to charge a fee contingent on the outcome of litigation, and the firm does not do so. Fees are a matter for discussion between the firm and the client, and are not published.

Consultation

Speak to a lawyer about your matter.

Tell us what has happened and what you need. We will tell you candidly whether you have a case, what it would take, and how the matter would be conducted.
