No Solicitation & Advertising Notice

Why this website exists, and the basis on which you are reading it.

The rule

Rule 36 of the Standards of Professional Conduct and Etiquette framed by the Bar Council of India provides that an advocate shall not solicit work or advertise, whether directly or indirectly. The rule has been relaxed to permit an advocate to furnish limited information on a website — name, address, telephone number, email, enrolment details, professional qualifications and areas of practice — provided the information is truthful and is not used to solicit work.

What this website is

This website is an informational resource. It exists so that a person who is already looking for information about Samaanta Law Firm, or about a provision of Indian law that affects them, can find it. It contains no claim of superior results, no comparison with any other firm, no testimonial soliciting instructions, and no promise about the outcome of any matter.

What it is not

Nothing on this website constitutes advertisement, solicitation, invitation or inducement of any kind. No part of it is directed at any particular person. The firm does not pay for placement, does not run advertising campaigns for legal services, and does not approach prospective clients.

Your acknowledgement

By using this website you acknowledge that:

  • there has been no advertisement, personal communication, solicitation, invitation or inducement of any kind from the firm or any of its members to solicit work through this website;
  • you are seeking information about the firm for your own information and use, of your own volition;
  • any information you obtain here is entirely at your own initiative;
  • nothing here constitutes legal advice, and no advocate–client relationship arises from your use of the site.

The published writing

The Insights section explains provisions of Indian law in plain language. It is published because a person who understands the shape of their problem asks better questions and makes better decisions, and because much of what goes wrong in Indian litigation goes wrong through simple lack of information about a deadline or a procedure. It is not marketing, and it recommends nothing beyond taking proper advice on your own facts.
